It had been snowing.. yes snowing in Las Vegas for the past couple of days leading up to the BIG question, it was also Christmas time, our favorite time of year.
We had just got back from the gym and Wes suggested since it was "our" Christmas Eve (we always have our own Christmas and Christmas Eve on the 23rd and 24th) we should go to Olive Garden with the gift card my parents had gotten us. I didn't think anything of it so I agreed. Wes called first shower which I complained about because It takes forever to blow dry my hair, but I said okay. Once he was done and I was getting ready he went downstairs to set up my fake Angel Tree (this is a tree that hold kids who might not have a great Christmas as far as presents). He went outside and called my dad for permission because he knew that if he told anyone for longer than an hour I could tell they were hiding a secret. My dad said yes and while Wes waited he tried to find the Christmas channel on my radio downstairs but ended up with smooth jazz.
I came downstairs and he grabbed my hand and said he had to show me something, I was thinking "OMG he is sooo proposing" but then that thought left when he took me to the tree. He told me that since I couldn't find any angel tree kids he searched for them and found them at the Galleria Mall in Henderson and I should pick one. So I was excited to go shopping for them and started to read the cards. A 15 year old girl who wanted make-up a kid named Daequan who wanted pokemon toys, I couldn't decide. After I read all three I asked him what was open 24 hours, and he told me I missed one. It took me awhile to find it, because it was on the back.... It still didn't hit me the reason it was on the other side. I opened it and the name said: Meghan, age 22, gift request: something shiny. Then I felt him kneel down and after I turned around that was it, I lost it and cried. I also can't remember what he said besides "will you marry me", it's hazy. I of course said yes and then proceeded to almost fall over when he put the rock on my finger that I thought was discontinued but he still managed to find it. I don't really remember anything else besides calling everyone and screaming with my girl friends... We're engaged!
